BIOGRAPHY
A multidisciplinary artist, Olivier Blouin multiplies the means of transmitting his vision of the world around him. An architect by training and photographer by passion, his work reflects a plastic research around spatiality, form and composition.
Over the years, he has developed a versatile practice which allows him, among other things, to collaborate on various international publications such as Frame and Dwell. In his free time, the young photographer, following in the footsteps of his father, photojournalist Normand Blouin, travels the continents and captures landscapes and faces along the way. Far from running out of steam, he is also developing his art on the publishing side with his most recent project, the book Moutarde Chou. Produced in collaboration with author and journalist Émilie Villeneuve, the gourmet book presents the people, places and recipes behind the best snacks in Quebec.
Nourished by his intuition, his art has been awarded numerous times, notably with the Lux prize for personal research in 2009. His prints adorn various public places in Montreal including the Pierre-Elliot Trudeau airport or the Scandinave-les-bains spa in Old Montreal and his work are regularly the subject of exhibitions.
