Jens has been passionate about cooking for as long as he can remember. After training in cooking in Germany, his native country, he worked in the great restaurants of Hamburg and Paris. He moved to Montreal in 2012 and it was after a stay in the kitchens of Bouillon Bilk that he became chef at Van Horne and then opened the very popular Butterblume, of which he is chef and co-owner.
He is the author of several recipes published in La Presse as well as a collaboration on the book À la soup by Josée Di Stasio. He is the father of the little gourmand Agathe, 8 years old, who loves oysters and mac and cheese above all else .
